Anxiety And Alcohol Consumption
Panic/Anxiety attacks brought on by alcohol?

I have had panic attacks and GAD for the last two years and have recently noticed that if I have some cocktails in the evening the next day is like a rollercoaster of panic attacks. Feeling like my throat is closing and I am losing control of my body. Is there a direct link between alcohol consumption and panic and anxiety disorders? I should mention that on days I do not consume alcohol I am 80-90% okay. Has anyone out there found this to be the case?

I definitely had this experience–there was a direct linkage between alcohol consumption and panic attacks. I quit drinking completely several years ago and since then I’ve had very few problems with panic.
