choosing a therapist?

What should I ask about/look for when choosing a therapist. The last one I had didn’t go so well.
I want to focus on stress/anxiety management and dependency issues.
How should I tell them what I am looking for on the phone? How should I word it?

don’t be afraid to browse.

ask them what their approaches are? I’d look for one who is eclectic.

ask about what typs of paients they normally see? age, gender, race, creed,ect (this will help you to ensure they can understand you and mesh well with you)

also ask what they specialize in. you might want one who only works with your problems or might not want someone who has never worked with your issues
