Anxiety Atlanta

Send my daughter on a trip?
My 6-year-old daughter and I live with her grandmother. My mom wants to take my daughter on vacation with her to Atlanta to visit my sister (and my niece and nephew). I am not able to take the time off of work, and I really don’t see a problem with my daughter going with her grandmother to visit family. Recently, though, it has come to light that my daughter has some anxiety issues, and in light of those issues, my ex-husband is not keen on the idea of our daughter going out of state with anyone besides one of her parents, thinking that it will worsen the anxiety issues. I would normally agree with this, except that she would be going with someone whom she lives with. Does he have the right to veto my decision?
I think he is concerned for her mental health and wants to ensure that she is not put into a position that could increase her anxieties. That said, the trip would be with her grandmother whom she lives with, so it’s not as if the caregiver doesn’t know her temperment/attitude/anxiety issues. You both have valid points. The key is to sit down with the three of you to determine what course of action any of you will take if she becomes extremely anxiety ridden while on vacation with her grandmother. Will they immediately come home? Will you or your ex-husband go pick her up? What measures are you taking right now to address her anxiety?.. If you have custody, he can’t veto your decision, but before you go ahead and send her off, make sure you have taken his concerns into consideration and have a plan in place in case his fears are realized.
