You might take a look at the Linden Method. Other possibilities are therapy and medications

Well there are many layers to the phenomenon known as “anxiety attacks”. I would suggest seeing any psychologist (b/c this is one of the most treated psychological/physiological problems treated in the U.S., almost all psychologists have patients with some level of anxiety issues) for treatment. They can help you break down causes and responses, and treatment methods. For immediate attacks, they usually prescribe you Xanax (sp?), which calms you down. I was prescribed that (never used it) as well as a daily medication (Zoloft, which I did take) used to treat the overall imbalances. It’s a serious medical condition b/c it’s a psychological problem that affects physical aspects of the body’s functions. Meditation, diet, and exercise are also effective at combatting the problem, although I would consult a professional that can help you tailor specific treatments that suit your issues. Good Luck

    Option 1
    1. First picture a big red STOP sign.
    2. take 4 deep breaths, in the nose, out the mouth.
    3. count to ten.
    4. think a happy thought. something positive.
    Option2
close eyes, picture black box. put all worries inside box one at a time. lock box. picture red box, unlock box, take out happy thoughts, pleasant memories, etc. one at a time.

i get them about once a week and the only thing that works for me is to talk to someone at that very moment. If no one is there with you call someone on the phone and talk about the panic, it truely makes mine vanish. Involving other people conteracts the attack.
