anxiety attacks?

I had one in class today during a midterm exam. It was bad.

Do you guys have any tricks to take your mind off troubles before they hit yeh hard?

The teacher told me to breathe but I had a hard time doing that.

I’ve had anxiety attacks since I was young, I really don’t know how to overcome them.

    A trained therapist can help probably more than anyone here on Yahoo can. They can give you diffferent techniques to use in different situations and possibly medication if necessary. Only a professional can accurately diagnose and treat your symptoms. Frequently only a few short sessions are needed. Take care and best of luck.

    Try breathing exercises. In through the nose and out through the mouth for about 5 counts each. I have anxiety and panic and although it is hard to cope with, it can be controlled. Your exam probably brought it on. It is hard to cope with problems. I know that an anxious personality can worry about so many things at once to the point of overwhelming anxiety. If you can, try to deal with you issues one at a time. Also, try not to let the mind wander to think about everything. If it does, try doing something you enjoy to get your mind off things.     hi.I am in the same situation as you.i go through them everyday.I take medication and I know we all dont always want to take medication,but if it helps then use it.I have anxiety when i eat,go outside,go to work,go on a bus so i know how you feel.I dont know if i am helping you but it helps me see that someone goes through the same thing as me.my medication does work and taking deep breaths thats what someone told me.Iknow taking breaths is hard it is for me too but i also think of something positive like i am going to pull through this,i am going to be ok,I dont know if this sounds weird but i think of yellow because its bright and to me it means happy.I hope this helps.
