Anxiety Attacks During Pregnancy
Severe anxiety and depression during pregnancy?

Every single day has been nearly if not miserable for me. i am 13 weeks along and am suffering from the worst mood swings ever. I just want to cry all the time. I am also very sad and unmotivated and have trouble doing routine tasks. I have a week to pack my things to move and havent even started, thats how bad it is. In addition I have anxiety attacks, really bad ones. I am just so depressed. I just want to cry. Everything is 10-20 times harder for me. Will this go away and does this mean ill have postpartum depression after the baby’s born? Because honestly there are times nothing can make me happy nothing.

First, know that this is not uncommon during pregnancy. You will hear many of us mothers talk about how miraculous it is to carry a new life. Indeed it is, love, but it is also terrifying, weird, stressful and down right overwhelming at times, especially when everything doesn’t just STOP so that we can nuture the new life inside of us! Well, know this; right now, your hormones are reaking havoc on your senses and you are OKAY. Provided you are not having thoughts of harming yourself, your unborn fetus, or anyone else for that matter, things are going to be alright. *If you are thinkin of doing any of the latter things, please call your doctor immediately. Right now is the time where friend and family mean the most,a nd you must allow yourself to call on them to assist you. Moving is a stressful situation, and one that should not be done by a pregnant wmoen all by herself, so this is something you can hopefully recieve help with. These feelings usuually go away within a few weeks. Also, take heart; just because you feel this way NOW does not mean that you are going to suffer from post partum depression, and even if you do, there are wonderful medications that can help to balance out your emotions in a safe effective manor without you feeling like a zombie. Please remember to rest often and do not let things overwhelm you. Try prayer, meditation, talking to a friend, or simply relaxing in a bubble bath and enjoying some soft music. You will be fine. Blessings……

Almost forgot to mention, I would not recommend Zoloft, as I believe it causes more harm than good, making you spacey and numb to the world around you. Lexapro, is milder and allows you to take smaller doses with greater effect. And ask your doctor about taking buspar, which is a anti anxiety medication that is safe to use during pregnancy and can really assist in helping you witht he anxiety. I know; used it, and it was GREAT! Non narcotic, so it is non habit forming, and ironically is prescribed to many zoloft users who started grinding their teeth while using Zoloft, and it was so effective that it cured them of that side effectr of Zoloft, so I say, why not go for the best when it comes to curing the anxiety?
