I’d like to hear your experience taking the medication Lexapro for anxiety & depression.?

Do you or did you like it? Side effects? I’ve been on it for 3 days and I have weird dreams and wake up with bloodshot eyes. Other than that I am okay. Please advice how it worked for you! Thanks! =)

the first 10 days or so on Lex were a nightmare…difficulty sleeping, upset tummy, nausea, feeling like my skin was crawling. but if you can tough out these next few days to weeks, Lex is an incredible drug for anxiety and depression.
i had such a hard time with the side effects that my doc put me on Klonopin…the Lex increased my anxiety to begin with so the Klonopin calmed me down until I got over the first few weeks.
i started off on 5mg of lex and then gradually increased. just tough it out and you should start feeling better overall within a month, it takes a while for it to work.
not everyone is the same though so if you feel like the side effects are too much or the drug just isn’t working, talk to your doc about trying something else. just remember, patience.
also, don’t stop taking it immediately without talking to your doc. i tried this and had a withdrawal symptom that was awful. good luck!
