Anxiety And Pregnancy

For some, anxiety during pregnancy is nothing more than generalized worry about managing pain, and coping after the baby is born, and for others, anxiety and pregnancy can be all consuming.

As with the rest of the population who may experience anxiety of a non clinical nature from time to time, most pregnant women experience generalised anxietysurrounding their pregnancy.

While a certain amount of anxiety during pregnancy is inevitable, high levels of stress and anxiety can have a detrimental effect on both mother and baby and there is growing evidence that high levels can affect children long after birth.

Is there any safe anxiety attacks treatment for pregnantwomen?

Positive thinking is the place to start if you want this condition to be a thing of the past. You want to make sure you shut out the negatives and make plenty of room while inviting the positives into your life. If you need to stay away from watching the news, please do. In fact, there are news stations that give the news in a positive light even when the news is negative, you might want to opt for such channels. Instead of exposing yourself to negative TV, you could and should opt for positive TV like cartoons or 3D animated kiddies movies where good always overcomes evil (trust me, you want to get used to such TV because your child will ensure that that is all the TV you will be watching once they are out!) Keep your thoughts on how healthy your baby is going to be and how safe and “stressless” your delivery is going to be and so on.

Breathe slowly. When you feel anxious, put your left hand over your stomach; inhale slowly and deeply; you should feel that your stomach expand or move out when you inhale and move in when you exhale. Just do it slowly, it will help take your mind away from your worry.

Taking rest is also very important during pregnancy. The room temperature should be set such that you should get comfortable sleep throughout the night. Pregnant women who get sound sleep during night suffer with less emotional and physical problems. The correct way of treating anxiety is by attacking the root cause of the problem. You need to find out the exact cause that is raising your stress levels. Pregnant women should also understand that they should keep away from all kinds of unnecessary tensions so that the baby inside should remain safe and strong. If mother is emotionally vulnerable it will have adverse effect on the baby also.

Your diet can effect your ability to cope with panic attacks during pregnancy. You should be eating foods enriched with protein and also plenty of fruit and vegetables. This will not only supply you with the essential nutrients your body needs, but also your baby’s. The correct foods will also ensure that the correct chemicals are being fed to the brain to help you calm your nerves!

Avoid taking pain killers or other types of medicine unless your doctor approves it. Remember, everything that enters your bloodstream will also enter the baby’s bloodstream.

Do something you enjoy every day. This could be a long soak in the tub or a shopping trip to look for baby items. If it makes you feel good it will help you relax.

Treating the root cause of your panic and anxiety attacks is the right and safest way to cure panic disorders during pregnancy. Knowing your triggers can better prepare you to tackle that nasty condition when it does occur again. Spending your time worrying over your baby’s health and when the next attack would occur is a waste of such a wonderful period in your life as during your pregnancy. What you want to do is ensure that you get the safest and most permanent cure for panic and anxiety attacks during your pregnancy.
