Anxiety Catholic
Is it wrong to tell my catholic guidance counselor that I’m gay?

I want to come out, just cause I feel so many pains, like depression, stress, anxiety ETC. And I feel coming out will alleviate some of the pain. But I don’t feel compfortable enough to tell my friends, just because im still trying to figure out who my real friends are, and parents are out of the question. But I go to a catholic school. Im suppose to be catholic but Im not all wrapped up in the whole God none sense like everyone else. Should I just keep quiet, or will my CATHOLIC guidance counselor help me? Ideas??

You need to tell someone. She might not be the right person, though. Some guidance counselors disregard privacy policies. Find someone to talk to. If you can’t, you can always call a 1-800 number if you need help. Seriously, there is always someone to turn to, and sometimes it’s best to just talk to someone who can’t get involved, especially given that your guidance counselor may be anti-gay. I’d look for a hotline for LGBT youth if need be. The worst thing you can do is hold it in.
