Help me train my cats and dog to get along and rid the dog of separation anxiety!?

I have four AWESOME cats, and yesterday I brought home a 6 month old puppy. He is very good with cats, and wants to play, but they as expected are a little hesitant. He wants to play with them, so he runs at them and it scares the heck out of the cats…but then they come back and want to sniff him and watch him. This dog also has separation anxiety and can not even be left in a room alone. He is good in a crate, but I want him to stay in the backyard and play. Right now he just stands at the door and barks! Can anyone offer help on either issue? Thanks!

Let the puppy and the cats work it out by themselves. They will soon establish rules among themselves and learn to get along respectfully.

Give your puppy something great to do when he is alone in the yard. A stuffed Kong toy is best but he may also enjoy pig or cow ears, pizzle sticks or at least a ball to chase. See what other safe chewables your pet store has for sale. Keep the little guy occupied.
