hypocondriac?

i know i am a hypocondriac, but is there any cure for this or advice? i constantly worry about dying, and i cannot handle when one of my kids gets sick or hurt. i am more like this with my 6 year old son than my teenage daughters, and i do not know why. even if he gets a cold i am freaking out. i wish i was not this way, i wasn’t this way before i had him. i tried to google and find a support group for this but could not find anything. any advice is greatly appreciated. oh i should add that this had lead to severe anxiety disorder and panice attacks have occured as well. it is 3:45 a.m. and i am up worried about my son who has a cold. he is sleeping and i am up worrying. help.

i’ve worked in the health care field for a long time. it really isn’t, as you have already realized, not that good to be that paranoid. it’s no use worrying about things you can’t change. i don’t think this has lead to severe anxiety, but i think your severe anxiety has probably lead to this. you should see a doctor because there is aaaaaaaaaaaaall kinds of stuff for anxiety. don’t worry so much. getting sick now is going to keep him from getting sick so often in the future. just keep an eye on him and go see you doctor for urself. you might want to watch how you act around your son too with paranoia. monkey see monkey do.
