Anxiety Disorders Symptoms In Children
anxiety problems?

ive been diagnosed with a severe anxiety disorder like a year ago. ive been having so many problems with me living that i feel trapped inside my own mind. im a 17 year old kid whose had extreemly bad parent/child relationships ever since my dad started working as a manager to a computer company. which was when i was like 6.

ive had anorexia and depression 2 years ago, but i got over that.
my symptoms that i feel so…. soooo tired in my life mostly mentally like.. i just dont want to deal with anything any more. any one thing that adds stress to my life makes me want to lash out to it. also my ex girlfriends contributed greatly to me feleling like this, by just screwing with my feelings.

i dont know how else to explain this. im giving up in school latley, i usualy get a 3.5 gpa.

thank you if you read this entierly through.. and thank you so much more if you respond to help

I understand what you are going through because I have been there. I am now 32 years old, but through most of my life, I have had undiagnosed and untreated General Anxiety Disorder. Left untreated for several years I ended up developing Major Depression Disorder and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Each compounded itself onto the other. I tried to just live with it, but I never got any better.

About 2 years ago I had felt like you describe about feeling tired. I would rather just get out of bed stay in one room all day (even to eat) and then go back to bed. Just the thought of going outside or doing something was exhausting. I did not really care about anything at all.

The one thing I can tell you for sure is that this feeling does not go away on its own. You really need to get some help from both your doctor in the form of medication and find a counselor that you like and can relate to. I tried all sorts of medication and found that most did not work for me. Through trial and error my doctor and I found that Effexor XR worked the best. Your experiences with medication may be different as we all have different bodies. Be patient and you will find one that works for you. I had tried Prozac, Celexa, Lexapro, Welbutrin, Amytryptaline, and then finally Effexor XR.

Medication can only help alleviate the symptoms that you are feeling at the moment, but counseling along with medication will help you get control. It may take some years before you are fully in control of this disorder without the need of medication. Taking a pill once a day is a small price to pay to feel normal again.

I congratulate you for wanting to deal with this issue. This is a very important first step. Please don’t stop now, see your doctor, get a counselor, but the most important thing you can do is have faith that you can and will feel better. You deserve to live a happy and healthy life. You are worth it.

Good luck and let us know how you are doing.
