Can a Christian lose their salvation if they get a divorce for unbiblical reasons?

I have been married 8 months, and my wife turned out to not be what I expected. She has been mean and emotionally abusive, and was sexually abused herself so she has a lot to work though. I have had anxiety and horrible, horrible sleepless nights for the past 4 months and there’s no end in site. If my health is failing because of my marriage, what would God think if I wanted a way out?

I don’t believe one can undue the work of Jesus Christ by getting a divorce. However, I suggest counseling with your pastor, and if that does not help, seek some other counseling, preferably with a doctor that embraces the Lord.

One of your comments regarding expectation is quite revealing. When couples seek premarital counseling, expectations is a very important aspect.

Expect the unexpected, and a commitment of love is to be without conditions, including expectations.
