Is there anything I can do if I have no health insurance?

Basically I’ve got a mental disorder that prevents me from finding work. I’m not crazy or anything, but I am severely depressed and under alot of anxiety. I really need to see a doctor so that they can prescribe me medication for this. If I don’t get help, I literally don’t know what will happen to me, as the money I have now won’t last very long. I currently live in Long Island, NY. Is there any sort of health insurance I can get that is affordable for an unemployed person? Or am I screwed? Is the only choice for me to pay the entire doctor’s fees out of pocket?
