Anxiety Dog Collar

dog w/extreme anxiety problems, accidents when I leave him alone?
I have the most lovable cockapoo, he’s 2 yrs old. We’ve had him for 4 months now, and I’m starting to realize the real reason his last owner wanted to give him up. Every single time he’s left alone, he pees and sometimes poos on the floor, always on the stairs for some reason. He follows me from room to room, whines when I go in the bathroom and close the door. He’ll whine and pee on the floor when I go to take a shower and leave him outside the room and when I go down to the basement and don’t bring him with me. He was barking so much when I was gone, that I had to get a bark shock collar (I don’t like doing that, but I’m not gonna risk getting evicted b/c of this dog). Does anyone have any ideas? I tried a crate (yes I made sure it was the right size – just enough room for him to stand) and the first time I put him in it and went out for 20mins, I came back to find he had pood, peed, broke 2 metal bars, and bent 4 more bars! HELP!!
It’s called separation anxiety. There isn’t much you can do about it. It is a very serious problem that needs to be handled gently. Your dog is freaking out when you leave because he is afraid to be alone.
You are going to need to contact a professional trainer. They can help you find ways to manage this condition. It is something that your dog is going to have for the rest of his life. You need to do all that you can to help him. Leave the tv or radio on when you are not at home. Make sure that he has plenty to do(chew toys & treats around your home). You may want to enroll him in a doggy daycare(he can socialize with other dogs & get some time away from home).
I am sorry. Please don’t give up on your dog, as he desperately needs you. Good luck
