Internal dialogue while falling asleep?
I have had a lot of anxiety lately, and I have been more self aware, I get songs stuck in my head on repeat and I am always monitoring my thoughts…
Lately when I am falling asleep, I will notice voices in my head-not coming from outside of it…just random sentences and words that make no sense, then I will either fall asleep or wake myself and be like that’s not real…it is only when I am falling asleep….Almost like I am starting to dream…and I am “setting up” a scenario…
I read about something called a hypnagogia…which says this is a normal sleep state and occurs in everyone, some pick up on it and others have already reached REM and don’t notice it…
Anyone else get this???
Some feedback would be nice…

Absolutely. It happens to me all the time. Does your brain ever tell itself to shut up? Mine sure does!
I think this is a pretty normal occurrence when you’re stressed and/or anxious. Especially when you’re exhausted; you know when you’re so tired you can’t sleep because your mind just won’t be quiet.
If you’re interested, Melatonin usually works pretty well for me. Its not a sleeping pill, so it doesn’t make you groggy or hallucinate or any other weird symptoms that generally come with sleeping aids. Melatonin is actually a chemical your body naturally produces when the sun goes down, to tell your mind to unwind and get ready for bed. This might help you a bit.
