moms would u help me choosing between breastfeeding or anxiety medicine?

i m mom of 3 beautiful kids 5year,15 months and 7weeks baby girl.now i wanted to continue breastfeeding her with formula but my DR says that i should take my anxiety medicine cuz in past i was in depression and had anxiety attacks so she wanna give me before they come back right now i can handle my anxiety but some times it seems that i might lose control but i still try to calm so far i m ok and i want to avoid my medicine cuz i wanna breast feed my girl and i feel sad sometimes thinking of taking medicine and stop breastfeeding.my doc says its better if u don’t breastfeed while u using anti anxiety or anti depression so what do i do?should i start my medicine or should i breast feed my lil baby girl cu zi m confused ur answers r much value able for me.thanks in advance.

It entirely depends on the medication you are taking. I was taking Lexapro for anxiety and my doctor kept me on them throughout my entire pregnancy and whilst I was breastfeeding. The only concern for side effects that they had was a small amount of withdrawals she might have gone through after birth.

I would have your doctor take a look at all possible anxiety medications and any known side effects to find the safest one that you might be able to take while still breastfeeding.
