Why do I get depressed when I hear music from the Zelda games?

Im 15 I have anxiety ocd add and depression, Im lonely (I don’t know if that matters or not) and every time I hear Zelda music I get depressed. These games have no nostalgic factor for me. I never played them until about a year ago. The only time I heard the songs before that was in super smash bros. Does anyone know why they make me depressed?

Ninendo has one of the best orchestras and Koji Kondo, who is the famous composer of almost every Nintendo theme you can remember. He composes music to fit the atmosphere of the games, and since Zelda is often a dark adventure set in a happy world, the music is supposed to have that sympathetic feel. In the ideal sense, Nintendo wants the gamer to want to save the fictional characters because the sorrow that has hit them is so great. Of course, it’s just a game and most of us don’t care too much. There are some emotional parts of Zelda games that you can tell they tried to highlight. Like that fairy fountain song is kind of sad and happy at the same time.

You probably feel sad because the music is well-composed to stir that emotion, and if you think about your loneliness while that sadness is being provoked, you’ll definitely feel the sadness. But hey, it’s just a game, so cheer up.
