!!!!I can tell lots of Anxiety!!!!!! Ok first of all you need to examine whether your anxiety is based on anything real. Have you considered attacking the problem naturally with supplements or behavior modification?

5-HTP (5-hydroxytryptophan) is a natural plant extract that converts into serotonin in the brain. Serotonin controls mood, behavior, appetite, and sleep within an individual, and 5-HTP is helpful to those experiencing low levels of this chemical. Ray Sahelian, M.D. formulated a 5-HTP product by Physician Formulas, and he recommends 50 to 100mg per day, taken on an empty stomach. This product should not be used for long periods of time. Since the product debuted in 1994, there are no long term effects known, but the current side effects include nausea, loose stool, and headaches.

The Seredyn formula contains three active ingredients to diminish anxiety symptoms. L-Theanine is an amino acid found in green tea, and its job is to increase feelings of calm, while encouraging a stronger sense of focus. Passion Flower extract stills an anxious, panicked mind and is especially helpful to those experiencing withdrawal symptoms from prescription anti-anxiety meds. Valerian extract found in Seredyn is clinically proven to alleviate insomnia in anxiety sufferers. Reactions such as fatigue, upset stomach, grogginess, and restlessness are rare, but keep in mind the recommended dosage is one or two capsules up to three times daily. The Seredyn natural supplement can be purchased online, along with a wealth of information on the product.

First, let me congratulate you on being aware of your anxiety, not everyone is. Most people live in denial.

Since you experience anxiety you are more aware and more evolved than the people who live in denial. This means you are a big step ahead of people who are denying their anxiety.

Panic attacks and anxiety attacks occur when you get caught up in your irrational, out of control thoughts. Anxiety and panic attacks are similar, with panic being more high pitched than anxiety.

In the old days –that is what I call my post doctoral training at the Behavior Therapy Unit at Temple Medical School in the 1970′s with Joe Wolpe, MD, Father of Behavior Therapy– we used systematic desensitization.

With systematic desensitization we taught people to relax their body and then imagine the things they were afraid of in small steps until they were no longer afraid. Flooding was another technique. We exposed people to the anxiety stimuli all at once until their anxiety diminished.

Both approaches are effective in helping you unlearn maladaptive anxiety responses to certain situations. Use desensitization on your own anytime, it is safe. But be careful with flooding, you can make your anxiety worse if you avoid the stimuli before your body returns to relaxation.

Both systematic desensitization and flooding reduce surface phobias, stress anxiety and GAD symptoms which are already in your conscious mind.

However, these techniques do not deal with the source, the root cause of what makes you anxious in the first place. Neither does the new kid on the block, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, which teaches you to think positive thoughts.

Having to think about thinking is probably the reason Cognitive Behavior Therapy has a 80% recidivism rate according to one study I recently read. Thinking keeps you in beta brain waves.

If you are in the midst of an anxiety attack or a panic attack right now you need to take immediate action to help yourself. Here is a simple and effective approach to get you started.

“Shut your mouth and breathe through your nose.”

When you breathe like this, it balances your Oxygen intake so you stop hyperventilating.

Stopping your hyperventilating is extremely important. So take the time to take care of yourself now. Properly attending to yourself in the moment will reap big dividends.

While it is important to be able to stop your anxiety attacks, it is also important to prevent them!!

I want a permanent and long lasting anxiety treatment which is natural and drug free.

If you agree and want to achieve relaxation and enjoy life, the first thing you need to do is get to the source of what makes you anxious. Ask yourself what is causing your out of control mental anxiety state in the first place.

Remember, if you deny your anxiety, there is no way you can help yourself.

Everyone on the planet has some static in their nervous system some of the time. For example, take the Dali Lama who meditates 8 hours a day. Imagine the Dali Lama at your dinner table during the holidays.

I know he would get anxious if he spent a few days surrounded by your family dynamics! If you did not let him meditate for 8 hours, his anxiety would certainly increase.

Everyone has anxiety and everyone needs to learn to relax more. Drugs do not get rid of anxiety or panic so learn to reduce anxiety naturally.

My body, emotional, energy approach moves beyond verbal therapy, talk therapy, and psychotherapy. None of these talk methods touch the chaos in the lining of your stomach or the conditioned responses in your muscles.

To succeed, you need to live in your body and focus on the source of your anxiety.

Anxiety is like lightning. In nature lighting is immediately grounded. In humans, your anxiety is not grounded. You let your out of control thoughts go on and on.

Your anxiety panic energy flies all over the place scaring you and everyone else to death. This is why your anxiety disorder, GAD or social anxiety problem becomes a serious mental health problem, emotional health problem and physical health problem.

If lightning in nature really did fly all over the place, the real world would be chaotic and it would be very, very scary. But reality is not chaotic and scary. No, it is not. Lightning does not fly all over the place.

Nature immediately grounds lightning. The real world is not out of control. Therefore you want to stay in touch with nature instead of being out of control. You need to bring yourself back into a safe, natural, sane state as soon as possible.

Your energy needs to be literally plugged into the ground for you to be safe. Just like the electricity in your wall, you need to get grounded, immediately.

Do not let your out of control energy continue to scare you or anyone else.

Out of control energy is dangerous. When you are not aware of the ground you are walking on, you are going to experience panic and anxiety. This is the reason you have anxiety. Your anxiety is telling you, you are out of balance.

If you are in a train headed over the cliffs you know you are in real danger. It is up to you to slow down your train and get back on the tracks.

Do not spend another day or night in an out of control anxious mental state. If you don’t ground yourself, nature will ground your out of control energy for you. Nature grounds energy with accidents, disease and trauma.

Instead of accidents, disease and trauma, learn safe, effective anxiety solutions to your anxiety.

You can learn to keep your train on the tracks and stop your irrational thoughts from ruining your life.

Perhaps you should try a different medication. I am on Zoloft myself and it has helped my anxiety tremendously. Keep trying to find a good counselor. Psychotherapy can really help.

what do you think is really bothering you??? and by the way I mean I’m not a doctor or anything but prozac is not for anxiety!!! zoloft or xanax or collatapins however it’s spelled… are more for anxiety!!!

  • define_normal_dot said:

First of all i totally know what you are going through except the whole med thing but in my opinion i would just ditch the counseling and talk to a friend and schedule times to get out a lot by getting involved in after school activities and if you can’t do that then make sure you are doing something over the weekend and it helps if you totally forget about school that is what i do when that happens just don’t let yourself have a panic attack or hyperventilate because you will end up in the hospital

I’m sorry. Sometimes anxiety can be a side effect of Prozac. How long have you been on Prozac?

  • Michael H said:

Being that I am not a medical professional I can not really tell you anything to do, that is the law.
The only thing I will suggest is trying meditation and yoga and getting away from prescription drugs as soon as you can, but not before your doctor tells you to.
It is hard to tell you anything without certain information, like what your doctors have said is the cause, what kind of life style do you have, are you having psychological problems related to emotional traumas from past or present, etc., etc. Sorry I can’t help.

been.. exactly where you are. honeslty i do not know why you are on prozac…that drug does nothing for anxiety….try asking your doctor about xanax along with zoloft. that;s the combo i use and it has done….wonders.

    see zoloft works with your depression but does not zombie you out like other drugs do…it also helps with anxiety {panic attacks}

xanax you might think of as little life rafts…they are no meant to be on for good…but when you actually have an attack. it get’s rid of it!

    but remember xanax can be come addctive….please ask your doctor about a low dose or only using it when you are having an attack….{which with the zoloft on your side should be rare.}

on a personal note..yu are sixteen andyour hormones are all over the place. that can contribute. make yourself go out…with someone you trust. that way if you have a hard time you can ask them to take you home and there will be no questions asked.

do not be afraid of demanding to your doctor you want to try one of these drugs….he works for you.

    stay strong!

I have been threw all this and the best way is to try another med. That didn’t work for me either. Ask the Doc about Cymbalta it works good for me and I have tried many. And get busy doing something new.

there’s a new class of drugs that are now being prescribed for those with social anxiety disorder – actually, the drugs aren’t new, but the class is for treating this disorder….

in *low* doses, *stimulants*, such as those typically given to patients with ADD/ADHD, are being found to be *very* effective in many individuals with social anxiety disorder….to the point where they can *completely eliminate* the symptoms upon taking the very first dose….

sounds too good to be true – and i’ve gotta be the most skeptical person on the planet….yet, after over a decade of trying virtually every drug available (including many antidepressants, benzodiazepines, etc) – with NONE of them having any effect on my symptoms whatsoever, after my very first dose of 10mg Adderall XR, i was *completely* symptom-free….

to the point where before taking it, i wasn’t able to even walk down my own street alone, socialize with friends or give a presentation at work; yet, just 40 minutes after taking the first dose, i was instantly able to do those things with NO problem – as well as performing before a crowd of 500 within that first week – with not one symptom present before, during or after…*that* is how effective it can be…

btw, despite any horror stories you may hear about stimulants, they aren’t dangerous or addictive – if they aren’t *abused*, that is….it’s now been over 3yrs since i began taking Adderall XR, and i still take just 10mgs once a day, and it’s still just as effective….believe it or not.

feel free to email me it you have any questions.

    good luck. :)

I have very bad anxiety too. And I also starting getting it when I was younger. Ask your doctor to possibly try some different medications high doses at a young age are frowned upon and mostly never presciribed. Also try meditation techniques, excercising/massages, taking bubble baths, your diet could also be a problem: avoid caffeine as much as possible. There are also many herbal supplements you can take, they are non-prescription as well and you can pick them up at vitamin store, and or drugstores and they are less harmful to your body as well.

I realize that prozac is sometimes used to treat anxiety, but usually it’s used to treat depression. A side effect can be anxiety. If it’s not working well for you, I would suggest that you see a psychiatrist if you’re not already. Particularly since you’re still pretty young to be on an anti-depressant and they don’t always work the way they’re supposed to with kids and adolescents.

Keep looking for a counselor. I realize that can be discouraging when 2 didn’t work out, but 2 isn’t a real search. You need to keep looking until you find someone. I truly believe there is someone good out there. If you know of anyone, a young person like yourself, who sees a counselor and likes them, ask if they wouldn’t mind giving you their name. It would be a good bet because then you’ll know it’s someone who works well with teenagers.

    Good luck, sweetie.
