i have had anxiety scince i was about 9.
my anxiety has changed though.
like, i used to have separation anxiety and now i dont.
now.. everytime i get into a car i have a horrible fear we will get lost. I get really nervous! and i dont know what to do because i’m going to be driving soon myself!










Its ok, when you are nervous just imagine yourself in a happy place, but remember keep you eyes on the road, if this doesnt work always have a map beside you to guide you. If you this doesnt work, then just get a taxi, or you can get a subway, or a bus. Just dont worry, it with be ok, you wont get lost, get a gps, cause it can guide you better than a map.

Have you thought about going to a doctor and asking for help?
you don’t have to live with anxiety like this…. there are things that can help you like medicines and therapy. It’s not good for your mental or physical health to be worried all the time.
Anxiety isn’t something you should be ashamed of… it’s a medical condition just like arthritis or a blood disorder…. many people have it and it’s not the fault of anyone.
Once you realize you don’t have to live like this, you’ll have a much happier life!!

The first thing to remember during an anxiety attack is that you need to stay calm and breathe
Since you have had issues with anxiety, I would suggest you get some counseling to “face” the monster “fears”
Psychologist are great they help you figure things out without drugging you

Their are many breathing exercises and meditation’s you can try that have worked for myself. Or you can see a psychiatrist to see if it is really Anxiety, because I’m not a doctor and it could be someting else like hypertension! Anyway that’s a couple of thing’s I did that might be an option for you, just breath and relax! Good Luck.

in the mean time you should practice taking very slow deep breathes, not just in your lungs, but in your tummy. put your fingers by your belly button and make sure when you breathe, you can feel your tummy moving in and out. try it the next time you feel anxiety coming. works for me all the time. now i rarely get any attacks anymore. secret is in the breathing. breathe improperly and you will get anxiety.
I also use to panic when i get lost driving… but then someone told me i dont have to panic when i get lost. just tell yourself its okay to get lost. if it makes you feel better, try to keep maps in your car, thats what i do. if you get lost just pull on the side in at a gas station or whatever parking lot, if you’r on the freeway just get off the next exit, take a breather and tell yourself you won’t die just because your lost. if you need to, get a GPS system, a portable one, or have one d/l to your phone. or go to the book store and invest in one of those THOMAS map books. You can always find your way back home with one of those! works for me! hope this helps.
