Anxiety High Blood Pressure Medication
Have you took a beta-blocker medication for anxiety or panic attacks?

You may know that beta-blockers are medication for high blood pressure or irregular heart beat. I don’t have neither, but was prescribed Propranolol (a beta-blocker) for anxiety, which isn’t FDA approved for that, but doctors can prescribe any medication as they see fit. I’m just started a low dose as my doctor advised. So, basically I’m wondering if there are others (or if you know someone) who tried a beta-blocker for anxiety or panic attacks and did it help?

I’ve never heard of anyone taking a beta-blocker for anxiety. I have talked with my doctor regarding my anxiety and I know he has mentioned taking an antidepressant, which can help with both anxiety and depression. This is what I’ve heard of most people taking for anxiety, but I guess each case is different. He never mentioned anything about a beta-blocker though. I’m still trying to decide whether or not to start the medication now.

However, I would like to ask you some questions about your experiences with anxiety and panic attacks. I will send you a private message on here, and hopefully you will get it and can answer some of my questions. Thanks!
