Does Prozac make you gain weight? And Taking it while pregnant?

I am 32,and pregnant with anxiety and depression. My husband is deployed so that contributes alot of the stress and depression. My doctor put me on Prozac and I have been so lazy feeling,sleepy and “numb”. I also have gained alot more weight than I think is normal. Not just from pregnancy. What were you symptoms and what meds are you on for depression and anxiety?

There has yet to be a study which points out that Prozac is safe for pregnant women – I would not suggest it. If you are taking it, then your baby is taking it… would you give Prozac to your infant? Probably not.

Anti-depressants aren’t a good idea, in general, during pregnancy. Try to find an alternative method.. going for walks, yoga, meditating… etc.
