Melatonin and Dreams?
Ive taken Melatonin in the past to help with insomnia but now, I DREAM all the time. and I have the habit of waking up after a dream is over. So I get like 4-6 hours of sleep a night, but I wake up in between every 2 hours or so. and if I didn’t have my falling back to sleep fast skill, I’d only get a few hours a night. What can I do to reduce dreaming? Also I’m not sure if this has anything to do with it, but For me to sleep, I convince myself to stay awake. Im one of those sleepers who have sleep pressure/anxiety and with the help of meds, its more under control, but one of the best ways of me falling asleep is to try and stay awake while in bed and I’ll doze off.
Maybe it’s not the melatonin because I have the same problem. I dream vividly constantly and wake up often, I always remember the bad dreams as well. I am not sure what’s causing this problem either, sorry, but you are not alone. I hear that stress and anxiety and worry can cause bad dreams and nightmares and disrupted sleep.
*Additionally. Have you tried going sleeping without the melatonin? If the dreams don’t go away, you will know that it’s not the melatonin causing them. You should try for a little bit without it and see what happens.
