Moving Anxiety for 9 month old American Bulldog?
My fiance and I have a 9 month old female American Bulldog named Frankie. We sometimes forget she is a dog, and treat her more like a baby
). We are currently living at my moms house and are moving out this weekend to a 3rd floor, 2 bedroom apartment. Im so afraid that Frankie will have seperation anxiety due to the fact that she is so used to my moms house and her 3 golden retreivers, that she will get upset and not used to being alone more, and not being able to come inside and outside whenever she pleases. Has anyone had a similar situation?
She will probably get some seperation anxiety. It may not be the same thing, but I have a 2 year old Pit Bull, and when we moved away from her 2 companion Labrador mixes, she was very upset. We figured out that the best thing for her was to keep everything else about her normal schedule the same as it was and give her some time every week at our local dog park. She was able to interact with a lot of dogs and it really helped her. Its part of her normal schedule now and she is doing fine. I would suggest that you keep Frankie’s schedule the same and take her somewhere to interact with other dogs.
