Anxiety Not Otherwise Specified
With what I’m taking, is alcohol so bad?

I’m taking lithium (1200mg), Cymbalta (30mg) and Seroquel. I have been diagnosed with major depression, bipolar non-otherwise specified, anxiety… and etc.
I occasionally go out with my friends and have a few drinks. Not that often I even get a little drunk. I have a group of friends that go crazy everytime I get near alcohol. One night they didn’t even let me get a lemon sherbert with champagne dessert. It’s not about getting drunk, it’s simply alcohol.
With what I’m taking (and not with what I’ve been diagnosed, since sometimes getting a little drunk and have a good time helps me relax and cheers me up)… is alcohol THAT bad?
Thanks to those who answered. I don’t drink very often. But sometimes a glass of wine with dinner seem quite nice. But will it interact horribly with my meds? I mean, I’m basically asking what is the interactions between alcohol and the brain + meds, in my case. (Sorry for the braggin’)

you’re risking an overdose. and if drinking relaxes you and cheers you up, you are self-medicating…have your doctor increase your cymbalta to 60 mg. if that doesn’t work, you might consider switching to effexor.
