Anxiety Older Dogs
Any suggestions for relieving anxiety in dogs?

Trying calmicalm but it is not working. Four year old Beagle that whines and crys when left alone for even a minute. About to pull my hair out. Please help.

Trying a desensitization program, coupled with the medication and perhaps DAP room diffuser and spray on bedding, a bandana, etc. may be more effective than just the medication alone. This is usually accomplished most successfully with the help of a professional animal behaviorist. I have included links though to help get you started. Doggy day care once or twice a week also seems to help (or finding someone you can leave the dog with a few times a week) while you work on the desensitization. Busy toys also seem to help some dogs if they are not so upset that they aren’t interested in treats. Good luck.
