Anxiety Ottawa

When is a laceration large enough to deserve medical attention, when does unusual behavior become deviant and?
socially unacceptable, when has anxiety or pain exceeded the levels that ought to be tolerated without attention? excerpted from the following book: Sutherland. R&Fulton, J. (1988). Health care in canada: a description and analysis of Canadian Health Services. Ottawa: The Health Group.
Can someone please take the time to answer these concerns best answer will receive 10 points.
thank you
What an odd juxtaposition of questions!
A laceration kind of depends on where it is, like if it is on a knuckle, a smaller one would still need stitches because of the constant movement but if it is on a flat area a larger one can be treated with soap and water and a bandage. Part of it also depends on the depth of the cut. If it goes much beyond just the outer layer of skin, it probably needs to be treated. Also if it is bleeding too much it should be treated. And part depends on what caused the laceration. If it was caused by a sharp object and has a fairly straight border, it doesn’t need as much attention as if it was caused by something rough and or dirty and the laceration is jagged or contaminated by foreign material.
Unusual behavior becomes unacceptable in different ways under different circumstances. For instance, nudity is acceptable in a nudist colony but not on a city street. In Polynesia men dressing as females is an ingrained part of society, while here it is largely frowned on. And of course any behavior which causes harm to the person or to other people is unacceptable.
The treatment of pain and anxiety is totally subjective. If the person involved feels that his pain is intolerable, he should be treated, no matter how anyone else perceives it. Some people have a higher pain threshhold than others. That’s why pain is usually evaluated on a scale of 1 to 10 by the person in pain and treated appropriately. I would say ditto for anxiety, but there aren’t any clear clinical guidelines like the 1 to 10 scale.
Hope this helps!
