Anxiety Phobia Treatment Center
What does physiological mean…?

I went to my school counsellor today and he gave me some treatment options for my anxiety/social phobia. So basically, I want to start on medications and then start on support groups and classes after. He wrote me a referral form for the Campus Health Centre.

On the form it says “rule out physioloigcal basis for presenting concerns” with a X beside it. I assume there will be a physiological test or something? What is it exactly and what happens during this physiological testing?
Oh no. Blood tests sicken me.

And will they be testing for marjiuana?

“Physiological” generally refers to physical, body function. What that means is you are being referred to a doctor to find out if your psychological issue has a physical cause. One possible physical cause could be a thyroid problem, for example. They will probably draw some blood and send it to a lab.
