Is it okay to smoke to relieve anxiety/OCD?
I found that a cigarette can give a marked improvement in decreasing the strength of the occasionally overly anxious/neurotic type of thinking. I don’t smoke a whole lot, just at max two-three cigarettes a day and from that amounts the low risk of the physical body health issues arising is worth having a lot less anxiety/OCD.
I’m not taking any formal prescription medicine for the anxiety/OCD but I am doing cognitive-behavioral therapy.
Whilst smoking may help at the time, in the long run it will only increase your anxiety. You run the risk of needing more and more nicotine too.
