Anxiety Sick

So riddled with anxiety that I am sick?
I worry over everything, even things that happened years ago. I get so worried I get physically ill. I have been to doctors for this, nothing has helped. I am 21 years old, soon to be 22. Can anyone offer any help/suggestions?

meditation may be helpful. there are also medications that are made for anxiety, they may also be helpful. You might try counseling if drugs and meditation don’t help.
You could try looking at what you are worried about in a different light. Ask yourself if what you are worried about will matter in two days….two weeks….two years….ever. If you are worried about something that you can control, such as how you will do on a test, then do something about it (such as study more). If you are worried about someone else’s reactions to something you did, don’t worry. Understand that other people’s reactions are not your responsibility.
Examine what you are worried about and do the following:
1. If it is something you can change or control, change it. Ex: you are driving without a license and are worried about getting caught. Stop driving until you get your license.
2. If it is the actions of another person, either get away from that person or understand you cannot control them. EX: worried about an abuseive person in your life hurting you again, leave them. Worried about Bush and the war, understnad you cannot control the situation.
3. If you are worried about how others perceive you, make sure you are acting in a way that you are comfortable with and don’t bother worry about their reaction. Ex: If you are a B**ch to someone and worried about them getting upset at you, apologize and don’t act like that again. If you are acting in a way that would make your parent’s proud but are still worried about other people’s reactions, understand that people are going to have differences of opinions and it is ok.
4. Worried about “Did I turn off the Iron before I left the house?” Make yourself a list and attach it to the door. When you leave the house check everything on the list to ensure you haven’t left anything on or forgotten to feed the animals or anything else that would worry you about the house while you are gone.
