What is a popular anxiety that would cause my son to express thoughts of suicide?

Recently divorced and mom left us. I have full custody and she only has them the minimal time. He recently made a stop annimation movie were two people (legos) commit suicide. He is also VERY quiet on the ride to moms house for the “exchange”

I must emphasize that you need to speak words of comfort, acceptance, value, to your son.
He must understand that nothing is his fault in this.
He may have angry feelings about each of you. …tell him its ok to have feelings, but not to the point that they control good thinking and reason.

If ever you need to learn how to communicate, and often, this is the time.
btw: I would be gentle, but ask why he made the plot for the legos to do them selves in ?
Suicide is running from a pain perceived to be un fixable. ………ask him what was so unfixable with the legos characters

Also, make it a point to not pass info along through him to the ex wife….and ask her not to do the same. In fact…try to talk to the ex about boundaries in what is said to the son. and keep any issues private, and verbally keep a joint love open to the son

I could go on………..it is all about active and daily Communication that addresses his personal self worth.
