Anxiety Throat Symptoms
Anxiety symptoms? – Shortness of breath, panic, shaking?

I am 21 years old and feeling as if i have anxiety. I received an internship this summer and also taking a summer class one day a week. I work full time for my internship and get pretty stressed out over my summer class because its difficult. Lately, I’ll get shortness of breath every now and then and panic. I also will feel anxious/nervous throughout the day, rarely for no reason. I don’t have chest pain unless I am really stressed. When I get anxious, I have heart palpitations and my throat gets dry and I try to relax. I do get heartburn at least once a day. I went to see a doctor to check for asthma due to my breathing and he did a breathing test. He said it came out so-so, but said it did look like there was a small issue and put me on an inhaler. So far, I have not seen much of a difference with the inhaler. I still get very anxious and I feel that that is what is causing my shortness of breath. Is what I am experiencing just anxiety?

Yes being over anxious does bring on anxiety attacks some people call them panic attacks. If it keeps happening keep going back to your doctors, they can treat you for this and they should – that’s what they get paid to do. If he don’t then change your doctors he’s not doing his job. This sort of thing needs to be seen to early rather than later – it could turn you into someone that was scared to step out your own door.

With the asthma it might be that you are not using it properly, I have asthma too, and for nearly two years I was using it wrongly – if it helps when you use the inhaler, pinch your nose. Take a deep breath in then blow it slowly out, at that point and before you next breath, use the inhaler, hold your your breath allowing the substance to go down for about 10 seconds, then slowly breath out. You will soon get the hang of it – but it needs to go down your throat not to the roof of your mouth – tilting the head back may help you do this.

Good Luck, and remember you don’t have to suffer panic attacks.

Good Luck
