Stop Anxiety Attacks – 3 Key Tips To Eliminate These Attacks That Are Now Controlling Your Life

Are anxiety attacks a severe problem taking place now in your life?   Do you dread the thought that as another day begins you will probably have yet another anxiety attack?   Do you feel powerless when your heart starts racing, you begin sweating, or that sick feeling in your stomach yet again reappears?   Have you grown fearful of certain situations or events in your life; due to some very negative and awful thoughts swirling around in your head?  Are you unable to understand why you are having these emotionally devastating thoughts?   You will do anything to regain control; to stop anxiety attacks from taking place in your life.

If you are experiencing anxiety attacks, I am one individual who understands your problem.  I suffered through many such attacks during a very traumatic period in my life about twelve years ago.  Let me make one statement of hope for you.  If I can overcome the attacks and come out of the state of depression that I was in, you can as well.    I learned that there are 3 key tips which will stop anxiety attacks from being the event which has come to control your life.

1.    Do not rely on prescription medication as being the permanent answer.

You may believe that the bottle of pills, prescribed as a short-term cure to control your symptoms, will stop your attacks forever.   My friend, nothing can be further from the truth.  When I initially was beginning the road towards recovery, my psychiatrist did prescribe medication.   My psychiatrist/doctor clearly explained to me that the medication was a short term solution only; to help control the symptoms, (racing heart, queasy stomach, and sweaty palms) that I was experiencing.  I was told that the medication was not the long-term, permanent solution in stopping these attacks.  Pills simply do not work on the triggers, (or causes) of the attacks which were taking place.  This same principle would be the same for any individual who suffers from anxiety attacks.

2.  Learn behavior modification techniques as a key tip to help eliminate anxiety attacks.

The key tip in helping you stop the attacks from taking place in your life is the ability for you to first understand and identify your triggers.  Some event in your past, or something which may occur in the future could be the cause for your attacks. Your stress level could go through the roof as you dwell 24/7 on these thoughts. What you need to do is have the ability to regain control over the thoughts in your mind.  As a behavior modification technique, it is suggested that you get yourself involved in an activity or hobby; allowing your mind to be engaged on something other than your triggers.  This activity could be getting involved in meditation, yoga, a physical fitness routine,  gardening, a chess club, a book reading club, needle-point, computer flying simulation, (which became my hobby), and so on.  Breathing exercises are also considered a natural remedy as it lowers the level of stress in your body.   The important ideal with this tip is that you involve your mind in other activities besides thinking of those negative thoughts; occurring every hour, of every day, in your life.

3.  The importance of a strong support system.

My family and friends helped me to emotionally get through the tough period during my life.  You do not have to go through it by yourself.  As a matter of fact, I strongly suggest that you seek out your best friends and family for guidance.   Allow the people in your support system to be a source of stability.  Talk to a family member or friend whenever you feel that sense of negativity about yourself.  I often felt much better after talking to someone who was a part of my support system.  Not only did I come to realize that people were solidly in my corner, but I received many positive vibes coming from the person who I had a conversation with; whether it was over the phone, in person, or in an exchange of emails.

Through these 3 key tips, you can stop anxiety attacks from taking place in your life.  I have tried to provide you with some of the steps which were so important in helping me eliminate my attacks. In this article, I simply could not provide you with everything.   However, there is a site which provides much more information.    Friend, I hope that you can overcome this condition which is now a part of your life.  I highly urge you to seek out more help and visit this site:  http://curepanicattacks57.info.

About the Author

Twelve years ago, I went through a very traumatic experience in my life. Because of that I eventually was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder through a medical professional in the field of psychiatry. I had many panic attacks that I often found to be overwhelming. At times, I feel as if I was not in control of the thoughts coming from my mind. Through behavior modification exercises provided by a trained medical professional, and through loving support of friends and family members, I overcame this disorder. I wish to offer support and guidance to those individuals who are going through the same ordeal as I did.
