Anxiety Tight Chest
Tight CHEST PAINS and my HEART BEATS FAST, in the morning?

i wake up in the morning and i realise the top part of my chest down to the bottom of my pecs my chests are really really hurt.

its really tight, even when i laugh in the morning it starts to pain more and i find it difficult to laugh.

i suffer from depression, anxiety, worries, stress. im not sure if any of this has to do with it, i get perfect sleep but its due to the fact i get really exhausted when im depressed from over thinkin.

i dont know if this has anything to do with tight chest pains, my heart beats fast.

could anyone tell me what this is please. thanks x

As an anxiety sufferer it really sounds like what you’re describing is a typical anxiety attack. It makes me a little nervous when someone says they are having tightening of the chest and pains like that given the various health reasons there could be (heart issues, blood clots, etc). None of which I’m saying you have, however you really need to get this checked out and make sure everything is OK with your heart and surrounding lungs, etc. I had a full examination before I was diagnosed with anxiety, You just don’t want to fool around if you think something is seriously wrong and you’re having chest pains, you probably should have someone take you to emergency or call the local hospital and talk to an advice nurse.

For my anxiety, I use shallow breathing techniques and this helps to calm me down. My Doctor also prescribe a mild sedative when I’m in the midst of an attack and it really helps. But, definitely have the issues of the chest pain checked out.

Here are some great relaxation techniques from the Mayo Clinic:
