Anxiety Too Much

How do I deal with too much anxiety over the upcoming birth of my 3rd child?
I live overseas and am planning on flying a 20 hour flight to get back home to deliver. I will be separated from my husband and almost 3 year old and 18 month old for about 3 weeks (cause my husband can only have so much time off from work) We will be living with my mom in pretty tight quarters, and there’s so much planning and stress involved in this. How do I just relax about it- I’m worrying about every little thing!!!
My dad says what he does in situations that aren’t ideal, is to say what is the worst thing that could happen. And then to ask himself, if the worst thing happens, can I deal with that. And if you can deal with the worst scenario, then everything else will be easier.
Another thing I think that helps is to always remember it’s not forever. The baby will come, whether or not you feel ready, and the 3 weeks will end, even if it seems they never will. You will be reunited with your husband. So realizing the temporary-ness of the situation can help you deal with the stress of a current situation.
Also, my dad says at the end of the day, he doesn’t lie in bed thinking about what he has yet to do, he thinks, alright, I’ve accomplished these things, and then he is happy with that, even if it wasn’t everything he hoped to set out to do.
Another thing you could do, is the things that are worrying you, do them now. If you want to pack an overnight bag, do it now. Then it will be done and ready. Even if it seems to early to do it, you won’t have that stress of having to do it any longer. If you need to pack for 3 weeks, pack everything you can now. Do what can be done on your list as soon as possible and it will make your mental list or written list shorter-less stress.
Also, concentrate on the good, not the bad. Envision holding your baby for the first time. Seeing that first smile. Trying to figure out who it favors, calling it by it’s new name. Singing it lullabies. That should help you a little too. Look at the flight as a time to relax away from it all, bring a book, or iPod, or crocheting, or a big, fat pillow to sleep on.
Good luck.
Persevere.
It will get better.
