Anxiety Treatment Without Medication

I’m on anxiety medication, but I’m still very awkward in social settings and fret over it when it’s over. Why?
I’ve been taking Paxil CR for several months now, but I’m still the same as I’ve always been. I’m terribly awkward in social situations, can’t look people in the eye, shrug my shoulders like I’m trying to hide in a turtle shell without noticing I’m doing it, and can’t think of anything to say when I’m supposed to. I’m 20, too. This stuff should’ve died in 2nd grade. I remember reading somewhere that SSRIs don’t work, which made me laugh because I knew all along they were nothing special. Please don’t tell me to go to counselling, because I’m receiving EMDR treatment for small T traumas as it is, and I’ve been to numerous counselors. Nobody helps. So, how am I supposed to live a normal, happy, social life when I’m a trembling disaster?
Coming from someone who has been on Anti-Depressents for a while now, the medication doesn’t solve your problems by itself. (Sadly)
You have to work your problems out on your own. the Anti-Depressants just make it easier. When your in a social setting, RELAX! Think about it, what could go wrong? Nothing.
List your reasons for being anxious in a social setting, you will find they are pretty much rediculous.
Good luck to you.
