Anxiety Waiting For Job Offer

Can a tooth abcess affect you psychologically?
For the past 3 years or so I’ve had teeth with minor chips, but not much pain, there’d be periods where a few would ache badly for a few days at a time but then subside never to show up again for months. But when they ache, it’s bad. Recently I’ve had more serious chips and some swelling on the gums in one particular area (that’s recently almost fully subsided). However, the past year or 2 I’ve noticed a gradually increasing amount of anxiety and mental problems that I NEVER experienced before. I’ve never had a problem with stress or anxiety, even in the most stressful situations, so I tried to think why it could be, and I was wondering if having infected teeth/abcesses could cause mental problems? I honestly don’t know what else it could be.
I haven’t had health insurance in a few years due to not being in school fulltime and no job that offered it until now. I’ll be getting it in a month. Is it safe to wait for my insurance to kick in before going?
I am a little confused. Do you have chipped teeth or an abcess or both? I had an abcess and the pain was the most severe thing I have ever experienced. Dentist put me on vicodin until I could get into the periodontist for a root canal. The vicodin could not even touch the pain.
If you have an abcess, it could be serious and needs to be seen.
If you are in pain, that can cause the stress/anxiety you are experiencing (although, that could be caused by a lot of things), but doesn’t sound like you are in a lot of chronic pain.
I would recommend calling a dental office and ask for their opinion.
