Burns Anxiety Scoring
What do I need to do before going to University?

1. How do I deal with burn outs? I burned out in high school.
2. How do I make friends without depending on anyone else to choose friends for me? (I have social anxiety disorder)
3. How do I do work effectively and good quality?
4. What are good ways to be financially stable?
5. What if i fail the course? Does that mean I’m no longer fit to do what I want to do? or should I keep trying.
6. How do I deal with feeling incompetent?
7. How do I deal with finishing last in everything I do? (literally, and figuratively, I score the lowest grades among my same-age siblings). What can I do to equal them?
8. Is there anything else I should know?

Thanks.

1. The most important thing you can do in college to prevent burning out is managing your time well. After intense cramming sessions for every test, by the end of the semester I just couldn’t do it. Space out a little bit of reading per day to keep up to speed with the class.

2. Making friends in college just happens. You get a clean slate, and a chance to become a different person. If you dobn’t want others to choose friends for you, then don’t let them.

3. Find a good study partner in each of your classes so you can stay motivated. College is ridden with distractions. Don’t let them get to you.

4. Get a job either on campus or a short walk away. You could also get a loan.

5. Every course is passable as long as you put in the work. You get what you work for, and if you work hard you’ll be fine.
Don’t worry about feeling incompetent. You’re in college to learn. To equal your siblings, study hard and stay on track. Think about how badly you want it. Sure the idea of coming in first would be nice, but unless you really want it, it’ll never happen.

8. Have fun! College is without a doubt one of the best experiences on my life, and I’m sure for most people.
