Buspar(sp?) What is your experience with this med??? Any info is helpful!?

My psych. Has given me a rx for Buspar. I am currently on Ativan 1mg 3x’s a day as well as Cymbalta 90mg a day. My intentions are to get off of the Ativan and switch the Cymbalta, but I need to take care of this anxiety first. I am in therapy, and Have googled it. I am looking for personal experiences. Thanks so much

Ativan is a tranquilizer and so is going to make you feel a little woozy or drugged. I take buspar twice a day up to 60 mg and it does help me with anxiety. A few years ago I told my husband I was going to stop taking it because I thought it was not helping me. Well I soon found out it was indeed helping me. It just does not make you feel drugged. Some people say it can make them feel a bit drowsy but I have not found that to be the case.
