Start Overcoming Social Anxiety Today With Social Anxiety Treatment

Overcoming Social Anxiety Is a Serious Matter. Keep Reading To Learn About Social Anxiety Treatment

I was once a victim of SAD, which is not literally feeling depressed but instead a disorder wherein you fear socializing with other people. Social Anxiety Disorder or SAD is a disturbing turmoil that can greatly affect many factors in your life such as work and relationships. I can still remember when I was at grade school wherein I never mingled with my classmates during recess time due to my shyness. Fortunately, my parents find ways to help me combat it. Overcoming social anxiety is easy when you have people that support you and when you have the great desire to really fight it out like I do.

Now, I am more confident and social because I took my chance and got the right social anxiety treatment. Guess what? I didn’t even require me to go to a hospital or visit a therapist just to diminish my shyness. Don’t worry; I will share with you my secrets of getting over it. Read on to know some of them.

Observe the Crowd and Place

Often times, social anxiety disorder takes place when you are in a new environment with new people to meet. What you need to do is try to observe what everyone else is doing or talking about. Check yourself for some anxiety symptoms such as shaking, hands sweating or fast heartbeat, then try to regard these stuffs as something you need to lose instantly. Once you have learned to embrace your anxiety problem, it’s going to be easy to find the right social anxiety treatment. You will soon realize that it’s very interesting to meet new friends and discover new places.

Give Yourself the Chance to Intermingle

Don’t be too harsh on yourself and let it experience the feeling of being around people even just for a short time. You can stay in the place for a matter of 10 minutes and try to find out if you’ll be ok. Once you feel like your anxiety is about to attack, you can look for a secluded area and then try to cool down. Once you are already feeling better, you can go back and mingle with them once more.

Have a Companion

Take note that overcoming social anxiety is a step by step process and cannot be done in just a snap. So when you suddenly got invited to a big event or party wherein you know you’ll not be so at ease, you can overcome your shyness by bring a friend with you. Having a trusted companion by your side will surely help you feel more comfortable and open to the idea of socializing with other individuals.

Assure Yourself that Everything Will be Alright

Being around with tons of individuals will not make you die or faint so stick to your mind that being social is not a bad idea after all. In fact, some of these individuals might also be suffering from SAD just like you. Appear to be calm and assure yourself that no one’s going to hurt you and they are friendly bunch of people willing to socialize with you too.

It’s only you who have the power in overcoming social anxiety attacks that’s been ruining your life. You can seek the encouragement and help of your family and friends but if you are not 100% dedicated in fighting it, you’ll surely fail. If you don’t want to grow old lonely, then conquer your SAD before it’s too late. Make sure to take action now and get the right social anxiety treatment for you.

Learn How to Overcome Public Speaking Anxiety

Stop Public Speaking Anxiety The Right Way

Being in front of so many people and trying to speak to them is one situation that a lot of individuals dread to do. Others thought that this is just normal but in reality it is a common disorder called public speaking anxiety. So how do you know when you are one of its victims? Common symptoms include sweating of hands, knees shaking and hearts beating so fast.

There are many reasons why individuals have this panic of talking in public. One could be the fear of coming mistakes such as in grammar, pronunciation and talking non-sense that will make listeners laugh. Next is that those people despise you and are giving unfair judgments towards you. Lastly, you feel like they don’t enjoy listening to you and that they don’t have any idea of what you are taking about. All of them are products of a negative outlook and is definitely a bothersome disorder that you must learn to conquer by following some tips on how to calm yourself prior to your speech. We listed the following guidelines that will help you in forgoing of your public anxiety.

Discover the Reason for your Anxiety

Find out why you are trapped in that public speaking anxiety. It could be due to the many negative thoughts that are lurking in your head like committing mistakes and not pleasing your listeners. Well, no one’s perfect and there would be instance that you’ll make an error but you can always stand up and correct it. Find out what really causes your knee to shake and your hands to sweat.

Be Organized and Practice Your Speech

You can avoid making blunders once you have laid out everything ahead of time. Practice often and always check your speech materials for some grammar errors and ideas that you think are irrelevant. When you’re sure that the whole thing are ok and that you rehearsed well, your confidence will surely boost up.

Make a Copy of Your Speech

One of their secret of great public speakers for delivering their message well is that they have a duplicate copy of their speech laid in front of them or hidden in their pockets. This will surely help you on moments when you suddenly get mental blocked due to public speaking anxiety. If you got a very long speech, you can make an outline and just take a look at t every time you feel like forgetting something. Knowing that you got a safety back-up will help feel more confident and secure with your speech.

Just Be Cool and Think Positive

No one will shoot you when you accidently make a mistake on your speech so there’s nothing to worry about. Practice some deep breathing exercise or a little stretching prior to your speech to calm down yourself. Think confidently that everything will turn out great and that when you’re done speaking, you’ll hear loud applauses from the audience.

Although it’s said that it’s normal to feel nervous when talking in front of a huge crowd, it will be best if you know how to overcome your public speaking anxiety attacks.
How To Go About Finding a Social Anxiety Support Group

Do you need social anxiety support?

Some people may find it weird that there are those individuals that don’t enjoy attending parties or gatherings. They even tag these people geeks or introverts. But in reality, there’s a big possibility that they are suffering from a social anxiety disorder wherein they have feelings of fears or tensions if they are with other people. Instead of poking fun at them or throwing away weird glances, the best thing we can do is suggest social anxiety support groups that will be very valuable in their treatments.

We need to understand that these individuals suffering from social anxiety have really low self-esteem and they often worry that the people around them are giving judgments on their actions or when they speak. Due to those concerns, they end up very conscious when in a crowd or even before attending a gathering. This can really affect them mentally and physically. Above all, their lives will be ruined because they will miss a lot of chances wherein they’ll meet wonderful, intelligent and nice individuals. Fortunately, this disorder can now be solved through the many social anxiety groups that offer assistance in overcoming such fear of the socialization. The varieties of anxiety assistance are listed below.

Family and Friends

What’s best way to get support than from the people who are really close to you and whom trusted the most? Battling social anxiety really starts at home because having a family that encourages you to meet other people aside from them is such a great way of boosting one’s confidence. Also, having friends that lets you experience the joy and thrill of meeting new pals will surely help. Your family and friends will surely give you sincere love and support in your quest of winning against your apprehension of being around people other than them.

Therapist and Psychologist

If you are not so comfortable of discussing your anxiety disorder with family and peers, then there’s one social anxiety support that is best for you. I am talking about seeking the help of a therapist or psychologist. What they usually do is evaluate the root of your problem and will engage you in a much relaxed conversation manner which is not scary to you. They can do this either on a one on one set-up or let you join group of individuals who are also having the same social anxiety disorder. That way, you can share with them your experiences and acquire encouragement from those people.

Online Support Groups / Phone Line Assistance

Modern technology got its own share of assistance when it comes to battling social anxiety through online organizations or different types of online forums that is dedicated to the said disorder. This is a great way of seeking help because you don’t have to meet these people personally, which is one big fear of social anxiety patients and can make their disorder worse. Still in a group setting, you can freely talk about your fears and they can also give you advices on how to seek treatment or share with you their own stories of how they reclaimed their life back by conquering their social illness. You can also try looking at your yellow page because some big cities offer lines for anxiety support wherein you can reach out with a person on the other line and discuss with him/her your social anxiety issues.

There will always be one social anxiety support group that can grant help with your anxiety treatment. Set aside your fear or hesitation and start treating yourself by asking for their assistance and encouragement.

I really want friends but I don’t know how to make friends. I’m scare of getting rejected, I panic in social situations, and I’m scare to talk to people. Should I take medication like Lexapro? What other thing can I do to get rid of Social anxiety?
