Child Anxiety Sig
Is this a phase or am I still healing?

I’ve been single for a year now, have talked to some guys here and there, but none of them shown anything long term that I may want. My ex broke up with me a year ago, after a five year relationship. and since then, I’ve been happily single. I’ve been also saying that marriage and children are HUGE responsibilites for me but when I was with my ex, those were things that i did want. I feel that Im selfish. I say things like I won’t have children and many of my friends think that I’ve become a commitment phobe. I get nervous thinking about moving in with a sig other. Many guys want to talk to me but i’m just not interested in talking to someone everyday, trying to find time for them when I have two jobs, nursing school, and a gospel group at the same time. Just wondering if anyone has felt like this after a break up or at some point in their life. I do believe that children are a joy and marriages are blessings but I get anxiety when I think about having it. Im only 21 so…I dunno.

Sounds like you are comfortable being single, as you have a lot going on in your own life. You’re right, relationships are a lot of effort and time. When you meet another person you loved as much as your ex, you will start to make the time and think about those things again. You probably just haven’t met the person that is worth the sacrifice of your own time and energy. People that aren’t afraid of being single and living their own life are pickier than those who MUST be in a relationship at all times, and therefore stay single longer.
