hi guys. i’m 15 and i am currently on 75mg of zoloft for my panic disorder. i think it is doing really well, but i’m debating whether or not to increase my milograms to 100 because i still get those panicky feelings every once in a while (chest pains…hot flashes) i’m 15 and weigh about 120-125. is 100mg a good dose for a person with that weight? could it be dangerous if i increased the milograms?

I definitely would not change the dosage on my own. You need to call the doctor that gave you the prescription for further instructions. You may need to add a different medication to your regimin. Sometimes SSRIs can actually increase feelings of panic. Please talk to your doctor before doing anything. You are under 18 and there are black box warnings on all SSRIs for people under 18 years of age.

In the meantime, try to relax and take care of yourself. Panic disorder can be overwhelming, but I have found it is cyclical and will come and go with changes in stress level. Try to exercise daily for at least a half hour, even if it is only brisk walking. That helps a lot with reducing stress and anxiety. Know you are not alone and you will get better.

Zoloft is used mainly for depression. Zanaz is for panic attacks and Xanez i very potent and addicting. U would check with you DDr. because something is not prescribed right UNLESS he or she believes the panic attacks are coming from depression thouhs. Be careful, there are alot of quacks out there, Dont be afreaid to check out their credentials like on the internnet.
