Depression Anxiety College Students

tips for staying stress free in college?
Im currently a communtiy college student looking to transfer to UCLA or UCB. I try very hard and get extreemly stressed out to the point of depression and anxiety. Plus, I am dirt poor so I have to live with my mom who is depresses herself so we dont get along very well. Any advice on how to cope with the stresses of school? I need some help.
First off avoid drugs or alcohol. It is easy to fall into these traps b/c they (at the time) are fun but truly are depressants and just help in the long run. As for how to stay stress free I would first would suggest exercise. Heck, even walking will benefit you. It is a direct anti depressant, not to mention will easy the little aches and pains by being healthier and building muscle, lung capacity etc. I would also take up some sort of hobby or interest, it can be anything from learning to play the guitar, a sport, reading or some time to forget about the stressful things around you and indulge in something that you find fun. If you want to talk some feel free to hit me up I have been in the same boat many times around.
