Developing a new disorder?

I was told about five years ago that I suffered from Borderline Personality Disorder, as well as underlying disorders – Generalized Anxiety, Generalized Depressive, Explosive, Eating Disorder…..my question is this, if my MAIN disorder WAS BPD, can it change and my MAIN disorder be one of anxiety? I am going to the doctor tomorrow, but I was just wondering because lately I have had SEVERE panic attacks. I have had them on and off for the past two years, but I have had four BAD ones within the past few weeks, with nothing changing in my life. So could I now have mostly an anxiety disorder? I am not sure how these things can change, or if they even can. Once diagnosed, is that how it stays forever?
