Can anxiety cause gum disease?

I’m kinda worried because I suffer from anxiety and I noticed two red pinpricks on my bottom lip, and I don’t brush my teeth as often as I should.

Anxiety will not cause gum disease but it may lower one’s resistance a bit allowing for a faster progression. Red spots on your lip is not a sign of gum disease but not brushing your teeth enough will cause gingivitis.
