Just recently my friend begin having what we think are anxiety attacks whenever she thinks about something/someone and she describes it as a pain in her chest and it’s difficult for her to breathe. Is this an anxiety attack or something else?

Yes, it does sound an awful lot like an anxiety attack. Just breathing slowly, or into a brown bag can help, but it’s always wise to check with a doctor just in case it’s something more serious.

i have terrible anxiety! & that sounds a lot like it.
usually when i have an anxiety attack, i get an incredible amount of anxiety in my chest (causing it to feel like it’s hard to breathe) & i usually end up hyperventilating due to the fact that i feel like i can’t breathe. & i usually get light headed & feel like everyone//everything is out to get me :/
to make sure, i would suggest seeing a doctor, because it COULD be something else, but it sounds like anxiety. also, they can suggest medications (if she’s willing) & other methods of calming yourself to help with the anxiety.
    hope this helps!!
