Dogs Anxiety Problems

Dog Behavior problems: teach them to behave correctly.

You might have no experience with dogs and are looking into getting your first one, or maybe you already have a dog that. has began exhibiting these kind of problems. The first step in fixing or avoiding common dog behavior problems is to understand them fully. If you have good command of obedience training it can really. help you to avoid the most common dog behavior problems or avoid them altogether.

Undesirable Barking.

Almost every dog out there is going to vocalize to some degree. But. if they continue to bark or whine more than is necessary, that can soon become a major annoyance to you and your guests and neighbors. A first step to correcting the problem is to figure out why your. dog is making so much noise.

Once you know this you can start to get the barking problem under control. It's important to be even handed and unchanging in your efforts. One way to address. this problem is to teach your dog to speak. Persistence and consistency will be effective in correcting your dog's noisy behaviour.

Destroying Furniture, Shoes and Other Possessions.

Chewing is also an instinct for dogs, a normal part of their behaviour. This natural behavior can quickly run out of control though when your dog doesn't know what to chew and what. not to chew.

By providing your dog with things that it's okay to chew on you can provide positive reinforcement. By removing things you don't want to get chewed from your dog's environment. you can reduce the chances of a relapse. It can be really helpful to keep your dog confined to a crate or specific area of the house where he will be less apt to ruin something when you are not home. If. you do happen upon your dog when he is chewing on an inappropriate object, stop him immediately by making a sharp sound. Once you have its attention take away the thing it's chewing on and provide. a safe chew toy. Also be sure to exercise your dog regularly, as this will also help to prevent many behaviour problems caused by inactivity.

The Digging Problem.

Digging. is also a normal instinct for many dogs, but one which can cause a problem for homeowners. The backgrounds of certain breeds, terriers for example, are more likely cause them to be diggers.

It's. easy to get angry at your dog if it starts digging all over the place. If you can find a reason for your dog's digging, try to get rid of whatever it is that's causing the problem. Sometimes simply. providing your dog with more exercise and engaging it in fun, instructive activities like training can have a positive effect. Another option is to give your dog a special sandbox or other area and train. it to only dig there.

Anxiety When You're Not Around.

This is easily one of the most frequently talked about canine behavior problems. Behaviours associated with the anxiety. can be unsuitable defecation and urination, chewing or other types of damaging activity, and barking and whining.

Correcting separation anxiety is difficult, necessitating zealous. training involving desensitizing and behavior modification exercises. If your dog's anxiety is too severe you may even need to get medication from your vet.

Inappropriate elimination. is a behavior issue that can become troublesome very quickly.

Improper elimination is perhaps the most annoying of the dog behaviour problems. Such problems can make your dog an unwelcome. guest in other people's homes, in public and can cause damage to your own home. If a dog that was previously housebroken begins to exhibit these problems it's important to check with your vet to. make sure the dog's health is okay.

Before your dog is three months old it doesn't have full control over its bladder, so little mistakes are inevitable. But if it continues as your. dog gets older, this problem will also require dedicated training to modify your dog's behaviour and break this inappropriate habit.
