Dsm Anxiety And Depression

How do I suggest having a totally different disorder than i am currently diagnosed with to my psychiatrist?

I am currently diagnosed with Bipolar disorder, and I have been diganosed with ADHD, Major Depression, and Anxiety in the past.

Recently I found information on a disorder called Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). I have every symptom found in the DSM-IV.

Now I do know that self – diagnostics is a big problem with people who study these things, but I have been having these effects even under medical care.

How do I approach my psychiatrist about this posibility without seeming like I am self-diagnosing?

Just tell him you took a diagnostics test and what the results were and that you would like his opinion on the matter. Remember all those questionaires you filled out when you first began treatment, all those on a scale of 1 to 10, or never/sometimes/all the time questions? This is basically no different, just because you didnt take it in your doctor’s office doesn’t mean you were trying to self-diagnose.
