Elderly Anxiety Medication
How much are my prescription drugs effecting my memory?

I’m 17 years old, a junior in highschool and I’ve been on Zoloft and Xanax for the past year. Beginning at a low dose of xanax then gradually adding zoloft to help with my anxiety and depression. I’m currently on 75mg of Zoloft and I take about one dose of .25mg of Xanax roughly five times a week (once every school day). I still need this medication to help with my disorders but I’ve been having extreme memory loss and I feel like the elderly woman on the altimzers commercials who forgets her grandkids name. Is this normal? Will this go away? Am I doomed to either have no memories or severe anxiety?

Benzos such as Xanax hurt ur cognition esp memory, make u foggy.thats y benzos r only suppose to be used for short periods due to life threatening withdrawal w/ seizures which i am goin through. If u habitually use the Xanax this cognitive problems will remain after discontinuation.Cognitive behavioral therapy and or a low does of Seroquel which is not a controlled substance or addicting,it is an antipsychotic but it works wonders.also if ur 17 and ur dr is dishing out benzos to u their not a good dr.good luck
