are the concentration issues in depression similar to concentration issues in anxiety?

what i mean is do people who have concentration issues because they’re depressed have them MORE OFTEN because of excessive rumination, or simply because they can not focus (like in anxiety)?

Depression can cause ones thoughts to be slowed down, or agitated. Depression can also make a person ruminate about something. It’s hard to draw the line because if someone is agitated while depressed they may feel quite anxious. I hope you are doing OK. Good Luck.
